Welcome to my blog of my progress in the Parelli Program!

This is a blog of my journey with my wonderful, amazing, smart, unconfident and then pretends to be--and is-- defaint, Quarter Horse mare, Brizzee, in the Parelli Program! We are official Level 1 Graduates as of spring, of 2009! We are currently playing with On-Line and Freestyle at Levels 2 & 3. I am also beginning to "play" with a friends horse. Sugar is a RBI 5 year old bay Quarter Horse. She is really "calm" and "quiet" and isn't very confident, but she's sensitive and very willing. I thank you for coming with me along my journey of playing with two wonderful horses! :)

Very Fun Arabian Mare For Sale

Hey everybody, I'm back from camping! I was back on Sunday, just haven't posted yet. I'm afraid I have some bad news though. We are really tight on money right now for hay, so unfurtunately we have to sell our 12 year old Arabian mare, Storm. She is a RBE, very sweet girl. For more info on her please go to http://www.otherhorsenalities.blogspot.com/. She needs a good, loving, and caring Parelli home. We are asking $600.00 for her, but price is not set in stone. And if you are interested in an old pick up or semi please go to http://www.pickup-semi4sale.blogspot.com/ to get info on that too.

Okay, now for an update on everything! Our camping trip was pretty fun. I missed my mom and Brizzee the whole time. lol. But it was okay. It was raining off and on Wednesday, and Thursday. But on Friday it was really good. It was all blue skies, then it would cloud up, sprinkle for a while, and then everything would clear up. It was okay, weather wise.

On Thursday we went for a 4-wheeler ride. Dad wanted to take the camera's, but he decided not to because we didn't really figure we'd see anything except deer, maybe, if that. Boy, what a mistkae that had been! We saw something that you would never expect to see in the South Hills. Any guesses? We saw two (2) MOOSE!! I think it was a cow and calf. The calf wasn't very small, but not as small as the other one.

So that was cool! Then we saw a Jack Rabbit, deer, lots of groudn squirrels, blue and red/orange birds. Yeah, it was okay. I'll post more pics tomorrow but I'm in a bit of a hurry now because we are going to go to the sale tonight and sell two of our Bulls. How fun...

And on...Tuesday I rode Brizzee. That was pretty cool. I used the Bozal, Bosale...however you spell that thing. It's the rawhide thing that goes over thier nose, there we go. Anyways, a friend let me borrow that from the last Team Sorting we went to (boy, what a mess) because Brizzee wasn't minding me at all with the Natural Hackamore I got from Parelli, so anyways, I rode her in that on Tuesday, and then mom wanted me to use spurs on her...Spurs! Yikes!

She did respond a lot better to them. I was very gentle with them, and she turned her hindquarters a lot faster with that, but I found that I kept bumping her with 'em...ooopppps. So mom took them off, yipee. And then we jsut rode up and down the road out here. We walked, trotted, did a very nice, fancy shuffle, and we cantered a few times. SHe even cantered on the left lead once!! Yippee!

She kept wanting to go to the grass though, but she was a lot better with that too, maybe because of the bo...the thing on her nose (lol). And my mom was helping me with some stuff and I realized something. She was talking about something and it made me tense a litlte and I got a little...just a little angry. She said that someone said soemthign about my horse, although she didn't tell me who or what they said, only that she wasn't going to tell me what the person said so I could prove t hat person wrong without knowing what that person said. And that made me a little angry cause of course I'm thinking; "Soemone said somethign bad about MY HORSE!" And right after I tensed and got mad like that up came brizzee's head and lip, adn then she went off to the grass.

Everytime I got just a little tense, or thought about somethign really hard, without doing anything in my body, she'd do it!! AMAZING! We stood for a long time, away from the grass, and mom's like; "Think grass, think grass!" So I did, I closed my eyes, and thought grass. Brizzee stood there a few minutes before she turned around and went to the grass. Then I thought "mom" and after a few minutes she took a few steps towards mom, but she couldn't leave the grass! lol. So I guess we really are in tune with each other much more then I thought...hmm. Interesting. As soon as I'd think; "Okay, you can have the grass." Boom, she was there. hehehehe. No wonder we've had a lot of tough times. As mom pointed out. "She's like a teenager randa. Remember what you and your sister were like? Well, that's how you and Brizzee are." ANd she was exactly right. Instead of; "Mom told you not to do that! I'm telling." "Oh no you're not..." etc. etc. It's; "Why should I do that. Hum." And Brizzee will put he rhead up and lift her lip. Hehehehe.

Boy, I never thought a horse would act like a teenager, but of course mine would. lol. She's 13, i'm 15..hmm....HOW INTERESTING!

So we're going to have a lot of fun playing with that.

And then I took the saddle of and rode her bareback. I can find my balance point almost instantly bareback. She trots and I don't feel off balance...yippee. But with the saddle...mainly my feet in the stirrups, is what throughs me off, but we're playing with it.

Okay, I've got to go now. I'll post pics hopefully tomorrow or another day. And again, if you are interested in a RBE/LBE arabian mare, please go to http://www.otherhorsenalities.blogspot.com/ to get info on her.

Thank you,
~Randa~ & ~Brizzee~
