Natural Horse-Man-Ship: For my best friend...

Welcome to my blog of my progress in the Parelli Program!

This is a blog of my journey with my wonderful, amazing, smart, unconfident and then pretends to be--and is-- defaint, Quarter Horse mare, Brizzee, in the Parelli Program! We are official Level 1 Graduates as of spring, of 2009! We are currently playing with On-Line and Freestyle at Levels 2 & 3. I am also beginning to "play" with a friends horse. Sugar is a RBI 5 year old bay Quarter Horse. She is really "calm" and "quiet" and isn't very confident, but she's sensitive and very willing. I thank you for coming with me along my journey of playing with two wonderful horses! :)

She is extremely Left Brain Introvert, but I have noticed that she is a lot more unconfident and distrustful, then she is confident and trustful. But we're slowly getting there--everytime we play there's an improvement. She's beginning to trust me more and more, and when she does get confused or unconfident, most the time she turns to me :-) But she has totally switched from when I first got her; then she was an extreme Right Brain Extrovert. Not moving her feet was unheard of. lol. And now she won't do anything hehe = -)

Things I need to be more Savvy with as of 10/2/10

As of today Sunday, Oct. 2nd, 2010, these are things I need to work on (Blue equals complete from the last update {August 3rd}:

Online:
1. Be more creative, fun, unpredicatable.
2. ENERGY; Bring it up and down.
3. Focusing with my body more - get a lot more "Body Langauge"
4. Take the time it takes, so it take less time.
5. Be patient - wait as long as needed; "I've never seen it take longer then two days" - - Pat Parelli
6. Wait until she licks her lips.
7. Be more INTERESTING!!
8. ADVANCE!! I have a tendency to stay with the "basics" and not advance. I want to advance, but at yet I don't do it because I want to "perfect" everything...UGH! Perfection comes with time, move on!
9. Be/having patience!

Freestyle:
1. Take the time it takes - go slower.
2. As soon as I get on, get OFF!
3. Hurry up, and just sit there.
4. Being more fluid and have more "movement/ENERGY" in my body.
5. Go slow.
6. STOP when it feels good (her being relaxed, calm, etc.)
7. BE CREATIVE/INTERESTING!
8. Be/have patience--I'm trying very hard with this!
And probably a lot more!

Liberty:
1. Do the same thing as I do online.
2. Don't panic, just go slow.
3. As soon as something goes wrong, put the halter back on.
4. Don't expect a lot all at once.
5. Have patience.
I haven't done much at Liberty with her yet.

Finesse:
Haven't even started that yet...but I'd say to HAVE PATIENCE!
Every time I play with her I'll probably add more things...and hopefully check things off! ;-)
